Yesterday I crushed a milestone: 140 pages, printed. It’s both satisfying and daunting; there’s so much more to go!
Every chapter now has substance, except the three big chapters I’ve been aching to write from the very beginning. Their prose is queued up in my psyche, ready for the download, but I’ve so far been creating around them. It’s akin to making crème brûlée in reverse. I’ve fired the golden, crusty sugar on top and now it’s time to build the creamy depth that makes a crisp layer of temptation worth breaking through.
Yum. I’m scared. And hungry.
No turning back.
